About the Call Me MiSTER program
Call Me MiSTER is a College of Education initiative based on USF St. Petersburg and Tampa campuses. The program recruits men and women to earn their undergraduate degree in Education and teacher certification or a Master’s of Arts degree in and Teacher certification. The program is conducted in partnership with Pinellas County Schools and Hillsborough County Schools.
The mission of USF’s Call Me MiSTER (an acronym for Mentors Instructing ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ Toward Effective Role Models) initiative is to increase the pool of certified and effective role-model teachers in Transformation schools. The program is open to all men and women desiring to teach and serve as role models in Transformation schools.

Program benefits
Call Me MiSTER requires a deep commitment to undergraduate and graduate students interested in certification and effective teaching in Transformation school classrooms. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Call Me MiSTER supports could include:

Cohort membership

Financial support which may include but is not limited to tuition and fee assistance, book support, or housing

Academic and social supports

Professional development seminars

Field experiences in Transformation schools

Call Me MiSTER national Summer Leadership institutes at Clemson University

Conference presentations and other professional experiences

Guaranteed Transformation school teaching position in Pinellas or Hillsborough County
Becoming a MiSTER
To be admitted to the Call Me MiSTER program, students must complete the following steps:
- Apply for and be accepted into the University of South ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ
- Complete the Call Me MiSTER online interest application
Following the submission of the items above, a Call Me MiSTER interview will be scheduled with prospective program participants to discuss their commitment and interest in teaching in urban schools.
