USF Nursing Associate Professor and Executive Director of the ذكذكتسئµ Center for Nursing named Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

Rayna Letourneau, PhD, RN, executive director of the and associate professor at the University of South ذكذكتسئµ College of Nursing has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). This esteemed honor, among the most prestigious in the profession, recognizes extraordinary contributions to the field of nursing and health care.

“Rayna’s national leadership in nursing workforce development continues to make a profound impact, and I’m thrilled to see her contributions celebrated on this prestigious stage,â€‌ said Usha Menon, PhD, RN, FAAN, FSBM, senior associate vice president at USF Health and dean of the College of Nursing.

The is a distinguished honorific society that brings together the nation’s top nursing leaders in education, management, practice, and research. With over 3,000 Fellows worldwide, the Academy serves as a powerful voice in shaping health policy and driving improvements in health care delivery.

Rayna Letourneau, PhD, RN, FAAN

Since 2021, Letourneau has led the ذكذكتسئµ Center for Nursing in researching and addressing issues of supply and demand for the nursing workforce in ذكذكتسئµ and building a statewide strategic plan. Additional ذكذكتسئµ Center for Nursing initiatives under her leadership include programs focused on supporting the well-being of ذكذكتسئµâ€™s nurses, developing continuing education activities for nurses, faculty, and preceptors, and a statewide community engagement tour to gather feedback from communities of interest.

Letourneau’s scholarship focuses on nursing workforce development, transition to practice, and nurse well-being. She has over 100 peer-reviewed and invited publications and presentations, is the host of the Frontline Nursing podcast, and was named to the ذكذكتسئµ Health Care Power 100 by City and State.

The 2025 Class of Fellows, selected from a ذكذكتسئµally high ذكذكتسئµ of applicants, represent the continued influence of nurses in championing innovative, evidence-informed solutions that champion health and well-being in their systems and communities.
