Nancy Marencin, PhD, CCC-SLP, assistant professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, has been selected as one of 10 recipients of the (ASHA) 2025 (AARC) Award.
The national award supports the retention of early-career, PhD-level faculty in the communication sciences and disorders field through mentored teaching and research development. Over the next 18-months, Marencin will work alongside selected research and teaching mentors to complete activities that strengthen her academic and research expertise.
Marencin is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with a courtesy appointment at the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ Center for Reading Research. Her research focuses on language and reading development and disabilities, particularly how children ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ and represent words.
